About Us

The Hounslow Arts Centre is a vibrant and dynamic cultural hub nestled in the heart of Hounslow. Established in 2015 by founders, Philip Ryder and Jonathan Ashby-Rock, our journey began as a humble theatre. Over the years, we have evolved and expanded our offerings to cater to the diverse needs of our local community and cultural enthusiasts.

What Our Users Say

Our repertoire now encompasses a rich tapestry of experiences, including captivating theatrical performances, thought-provoking foreign language cinema screenings, invigorating dance and fitness classes, and a year-round community gallery that warmly welcomes artists of all skill levels to showcase their creativity freely. Beyond the arts, we are a place for community support, hosting invaluable sessions such as Hounslow’s Wellbeing Network, the Saathi Women’s Group, and Speak Out in Hounslow.

Our commitment to fostering positive change and enriching our surroundings has been recognised and supported by the Heathrow Community Trust, which granted us the means to develop the Footprints Festival of the Environment in 2021. Building on this success, the London Borough of Hounslow has also generously funded us to curate further festivals in 2022.

Since 2018, we have proudly operated as a festival theatre, giving birth to a multitude of engaging festivals. Our inaugural Festival of Mental Health and Wellbeing, in particular, stands as a testament to our dedication. This groundbreaking event garnered unprecedented community participation, drawing in a larger and more localised audience than ever before. Comprising six enthralling theatrical performances, fifteen enriching workshops, and support sessions like Let’s Connect, the festival fostered a sense of belonging and camaraderie in a safe, welcoming environment.

To ensure inclusivity, all festival performances and workshops operated on a 'Pay what you Decide' basis, making our offerings accessible to all. With an impressive attendance of over 700 in the first week alone, the festival exemplified our mission to bring the arts to every corner of our community, transcending barriers and leaving a lasting impact.
